Paa-Ko Road Improvement Update

Paa-Ko Road Improvement Update

The New Mexico DOT responded to our request to install left-turn arrows in the turn lane at our community’s northern entrance. Residents had reported being tailgated and nearly rear-ended by drivers unfamiliar with the lane’s proper use as a turn lane instead of a passing lane.

The road crack repair project along all our curbed streets and cul-de-sacs in the northern part of our development continues. Comments from residents about contractor courtesy and attention to detail have been forwarded to the county road department. The arrival of cooler weather means that road resurfacing along Raindance will be postponed until spring, but the crack filling project will be completed over the next two weeks.

If you have any questions or concerns, call
Jim Kelley at 505/239-8552.

Garbage

As reported by a resident, there have been  some minor issues with putting an unsecured garbage bin out on a windy day.  Our winds can be quite strong at times -- strong enough to open the lid of the bin and blow trash out into the road and neighboring yards.

Securing lid with bungee cords or, at least, putting a rock on the lid can help with this issue.  It can also help to keep wild animals out of the trash.

Just for fun, I have attached a photo of a bear cub,  taken at our place in Bozeman, trying to figure out how to get into a trash bin (empty by the way). It's so darn cute, I had to share.
