Campbell Ranch Update and Meeting Date

From Paa-Ko Resident Kathy Freas regarding the proposed major Campbell Ranch Development across from Paa-Ko:

The outdated 2002 CFC’s CRMP, which more than 200 of us spoke against in 2021, remains in effect. The elements of that plan, including Villages 2-4, 2 golf courses, about 4,000 housing units, and commercial development continue to guide development on CFC property. http://www.edgewood-nm.gov/transparency/

Adverse impacts to Paa Ko Communities are significant. The subdivision application lacks provision for fire, police and other services, includes no proven water supply and wastewater management, and would result in noise, traffic congestion, increased crime, increased chance of wildfire, severe impacts to our viewshed and overall loss of home values, among other impacts.

There are two upcoming meetings to attend:
November 12 Town Commission meeting, attend and comment
November 21 Public Hearing, attend, comment
Submit written comments at the November 12 meeting
Submit written comments for the Public Hearing by November 18
The Town Commission meeting and Public Hearing are at 6:00pm, Town Hall of Edgewood Commission Chambers,
171A State Rd. 344.

Meeting agendas must be posted 3 days prior to the meeting or Public Hearing.
They should be available at   Town of Edgewood - Meeting Type List

Garbage

As reported by a resident, there have been  some minor issues with putting an unsecured garbage bin out on a windy day.  Our winds can be quite strong at times -- strong enough to open the lid of the bin and blow trash out into the road and neighboring yards.

Securing lid with bungee cords or, at least, putting a rock on the lid can help with this issue.  It can also help to keep wild animals out of the trash.

Just for fun, I have attached a photo of a bear cub,  taken at our place in Bozeman, trying to figure out how to get into a trash bin (empty by the way). It's so darn cute, I had to share.
