Paa-Ko Annual Amenities Report
The Paako Amenities Committee is made up of the following: Bruce Franks, Tim Doyle, Tom Arland, Brad Weiss, and Elizabeth Doyle. More than a year ago, the committee began working on multiple repairs and improvements to the Amenities facilities. These include plumbing repairs to the pool bathrooms and adding a water softener to the system. The pool has had its yearly repair of the pool cover, along with a new motor. The pool pump has been rebuilt. Soon work will begin on replacing the deteriorating concrete ramp that leads to the steps to the bocce, tennis, and pickleball courts area. Stucco repair on multiple walls will follow, along with painting of railings and doors on pool building, and sealing of brick caps on stucco walls. Around June 1, repair and resurfacing of the tennis/pickleball courts will begin. New tennis nets were purchased. Pickleball players have volunteered to replace a section of torn wind screen. The bocce courts surface is being improved by removal of gravel chunks, manual labor provided by users. Thanks to everyone on the committee, especially Tom Arland for the time-consuming work of meeting with contractors and getting bids, as well as Melissa Chavez of Associa for efforts on behalf of Paako Amenities. Endless thanks to Frank Novak for volunteering his time to manage pool maintenance.
The pool must pass county inspection before it will be opened. As of right now, Bernalillo Health Department has put inspections on hold. Updates will be available as soon as anything is known. Numbers of pool users may be restricted once the pool is allowed to open.
Requests to allow the ball courts to be available have been considered and denied as of now. More requests to open the courts have been sent to the HOA BOD.
