From EMWPA:
Here's the link to this week's Wildfire Wednesdays #173 newsletter from the Fire Adapted New Mexico Learning Network.
Wildfire Wednesdays #173 highlights landscape-scale prescribed fire successes completed this fall by federal, state, municipal, and tribal fire management agencies and their partners. The list includes Espinosa northwest of Mountainair, along with prescribed fires on Santa Fe and Carson National Forests and State Trust Land in northern New Mexico.
Note the Borrego Mesa Prescribed Jackpot Burn, a multi-agency project described as "marking one step in rebuilding public trust and safely re-initiating prescribed fire operations" on Santa Fe National Forest following Hermit's Peak-Calf Canyon Fires in 2022.
The newsletter focuses on collaborative efforts to reduce the risk of future catastrophic wildfire, restore fire-adapted ecosystems, develop the future wildfire workforce, and strengthen cross-jurisdictional partnerships.
With spring just a few months away, it's important to BE AWARE and TAKE ACTION TO PREPARE!
