Open Burning Prohibited

A resident was performing open burning of tree limbs on their property yesterday.

This is a reminder that OPEN BURNING IS NOT ALLOWED IN PAA-KO and is VERY dangerous to the community.

Please use the Tijeras transfer station to get rid of tree/shrub refuse, or use Universal Waste, following their guidelines for bagging before placing in your waste container.

Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter!

Road Resurfacing

Road Resurfacing of Paa-Ko’s North Entrance:
This long-awaited county roadwork on north Paa-Ko Drive, Raindance, and the associated curbed cul-de-sacs will cause the entire northern community entrance to be closed for much of the day on Tuesday, May 6th . All road traffic on this date should plan to route in-and-out of our southern Paa-Ko Drive entrance. Please note the speed limit at the southern end of Paa-Ko
Drive is 25-mph. This inconvenience should only last for May 6th.
How the Raindance Roadwork+ will affect Local Residents
We just received this information. The contractor is also leaving flyers on resident front doors. Check your porch for information that changes due to construction speed. They will try to provide 48-hour notice of scheduling issues. This road improvement effort merely begins much needed work on Paa-Ko streets. This contract was outsourced to the road contractor IPR because of the road curbing on our northern Paa-Ko roads. The Paa-Ko HOA had no control over the selection of which area of Paa-Ko would start the long project.
The Shiprock gated entrance will be closed to traffic on Friday,
May 2nd
(use Broken Arrow). The Broken Arrow entrance will be closed to traffic on Monday, May 5th (use Shiprock). Our private gated roads are NOT included in BERNCO’s project.
On Thursday, May 1st , Squash Blossom Court, Shelu Court, Blue Corn Court, Corn Dance, Kokopelli Court, and Hania Kachina Court will be resurfaced. You need to have your car off
your street by 8:00A with a planned return time after 5:00P.
On Friday, May 2nd, the upper end of Raindance will be resurfaced. Single lane traffic will be allowed. Also planned for the 2nd is Zia Court, Monghu Kachina, Tecalote Court, Mudhead Court, Clubhouse Court, and Concha Court. Cars must be out of these streets/cul-de-sacs by 8:00 AM.
