Raindance Area Road Crack Project Officially Begins

FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

The Raindance road resurfacing project formally commences on
Monday, October 14th. Our initial road improvement project, totally funded by Bernalillo County, will address all the non-gated curbed roads and cul-de-sacs in our community which are all located at our northern end. The county road department decided to start with our curbed streets as their new personnel are not yet fully trained on the special machinery used for the microsurface overlay (which may not be applied until spring.) IPR Construction is our designated contractor for the project. If you have questions or concerns, please call Jim Kelley at 505/239-8552. As mentioned previously, any delays you may encounter coming out of your driveway should only last about ten minutes. The contractor will provide traffic control to ensure worker safety.

Garbage

As reported by a resident, there have been  some minor issues with putting an unsecured garbage bin out on a windy day.  Our winds can be quite strong at times -- strong enough to open the lid of the bin and blow trash out into the road and neighboring yards.

Securing lid with bungee cords or, at least, putting a rock on the lid can help with this issue.  It can also help to keep wild animals out of the trash.

Just for fun, I have attached a photo of a bear cub,  taken at our place in Bozeman, trying to figure out how to get into a trash bin (empty by the way). It's so darn cute, I had to share.
