CC&R's for Household Pets

Melissa Chavez, our HOA Community Association Manager at Associa Canyon Gate Management, has sent the paragraph from the CC&R's related to barking and loose dogs.  Please be mindful of neighbors if your dog is one of those who barks incessantly.  Also, dogs are not allowed to run loose and must be contained within a fenced yard.

The loose Labradoodles this week having been running around Canyon Ridge every day - coming towards cars, barking and growling at walkers and joggers to the point of some people being afraid.  The owners apparently live on Canyon Ridge.  Please call Animal Control at 505-314-0280 if you see the dogs out again.

For the CC&R paragraph, please go to READ MORE and then to DOCUMENTS

Tarantulas

Tarantulas have been spotted around Paa-Ko.  Photo attached (go to READ MORE then to DOCUMENTS).

These are good critters - not the horror film variety.  Don't kill them - let them cross the road to get to the other side. :)

NOT COOL TO LEAVE STOOL

Complaints have come in regarding "Poop on the Loop".  Chaco Loop has long had the reputation of ranking high on the "MOST DOG-POOPED FILLED STREETS" list in Paa-Ko.  Several other streets are right up there, too.  You can't walk 20 steps without seeing numerous piles of dog poop, but this might just put Chaco at the top of the list.

Numerous poop bags have been piling up behind a Roger Cox FOR SALE sign on a vacant lot just east of 13 Chaco Loop.  And, yes,  there just happens to be a picture.  Click on READ MORE and go to DOCUMENTS to see it.

This is ugly and disgusting and gross for our community.  The same can be said for leaving poop on the ground after your dog defecates that others have to maneuver around.  Please be a considerate neighbor and a responsible dog owner.  Everyone needs to do their part to keep Paa-Ko clean.

It is the law that you pick up after your dog (dogs cannot do it themselves), then take the bag home and deposit in your garbage can.  And, YES, this rule applies to all dog owners without exception.  Several culprits names have been brought up, so, if this is you, please go clean up this mess and dispose of it properly.

If your dog poops, and no one is watching, you still need to pick it up!   THERE IS NO PAA-KO POOP FAIRY!!

Emergency Preparedness

Attached are the Emergency Preparedness forms, filled with valuable information about what to do in case of an emergency situation.  Things like evacuation routes from Paa-Ko (depending on the wind direction, that could be to Santa Fe or the Edgewood Walmart, or some other designated location), making and practicing an evacuation plan from your home with all your family members, what to do for pet evacuations, have important documents in one place to grab quickly and take with you, be sure to have medications for your family and pets - a 5-7 day supply is recommended, and many other things were discusssed.

For more detailed information, go to the East Mountain Interagency Fire Protection Association (EMIFPA) at EMIFPA

To receive emergency alerts on your cell phone, you may sign up at   NIXLE

Attached are the brochures (or parts of brochures) that were handed out at the meeting.  Go to READ MORE and then to DOCUMENTS

Garbage

As reported by a resident, there have been  some minor issues with putting an unsecured garbage bin out on a windy day.  Our winds can be quite strong at times -- strong enough to open the lid of the bin and blow trash out into the road and neighboring yards.

Securing lid with bungee cords or, at least, putting a rock on the lid can help with this issue.  It can also help to keep wild animals out of the trash.

Just for fun, I have attached a photo of a bear cub,  taken at our place in Bozeman, trying to figure out how to get into a trash bin (empty by the way). It's so darn cute, I had to share.
